Yassou anakreon,
This was a question I asked myself a few months ago....
and I chose the Olympus E300. The build feels good in the hands unlike the plastic feel of the Canon. The standard lens 14-45 (although 'slow' f3.5) which comes with it is said to be of better quality than the standard Canon lens. There is also a very useful and unique buit-in CDD cleaning system. So no worries about dust on the sensor. Also I personally find that the colour rendition is closer to reality than the oversaturated Canon images.
The Canon however, deals better with noise (grain) so you can 'push' the ISO to quite high before any noticeable noise. Also, there are more lenses for the Canon system than the Olympus 4/3 system.
BTW There is also the Canon 350XT at 8MP
Hope this helps with your choice.
