From B&H site:
Image Sensor 23.7 x 15.7mm size 12.84 Megapixel CMOS sensor
That's the same size as the D-50 and probably their other SLR's.

full frame or not full frame?
I was at the www.popphoto.com website and they issued a correction to a magazine article they released in 2003. The article was about the ceo of Nikon say that they were working on a camera that would use a full frame sensor. However, the correction states that Nikon would be using the same size sensors as previous models and had a full frame sensor for research ONLY. Granted that was in 2003 and perhaps the D2x is a full frame?! I own a D2x myself and have not been able to figure out if it is a full frame or not as I don't own a 35mm to compare similar images to.
