I'd recomend getting some lens cleaning cloths. You can get them at any photography or eyeglass store. hope this helps

Lens cleaning cloths are fine, but sometimes there is very fine dust on a lens and the cloth is just going to subtley grind it in. And the cloth itself can get dirty without you evening seeing it. I have a liquid lens cleaner that I put on the cloth and then wipe off the lens.
Get yourself a clear filter to keep on all the time and protect your lens.

Hi,
In addition to the above replies, before using any cloth on the lens use a blower brush to clean off any dust.

Here is a link to a great blower. Not all out there are good. I own this one for the past year and it works great.
It comes in 3 sizes, small, med, large.
I have seen many people on forums all over the net say the love it as well.
