I just bought a Rebel XT. I also have the D100. My D100 is set at 300 DPI. The Rebel is at 72. If I shoot 250 pics for a friend and give them the CD, will they be able to get sharp prints at 72 DPI from the drug store (Walgreens) photo machine? I am talking about 4 x 6 prints. If I have to put each photo into Adobe CS and up the DPI for them to get nice prints it is not going to be worth it. Thanks! Alan

PS. The XT takes much nicer pics than the D100!

I have the orginal rebel--not the xt. I had some 5x7 prints made up at 180 dpi and they were quite sharp, for 4x6 you shouldn't have a problem with sharpness.

The ppi is meaningless in this instance, prints from both cameras are going to have all the pixels in the images squeezed into the print size. You're actually overiding the ppi as the file displays them.
