YaSh,
I'm not too sure if this will help at all but as I am also brand new to Digital Photography I experiment with some of my photos using PhotoShop 6 and it there I can open a photo and use the program's Histograms to enhance and re-set certain areas within the picture according to a sliding scale which shows what I believe is a spectrum of the various colours that have been captured by the camera in the photo. It suggests that both ends of the spectrum should have a arrow on the base line both at the beginning point and ending and if they are not there then by sliding them into their proper position they alter the light qualities in that shot to become much clearer and controlled. I really hope this makes some sense to you as it is the best way I can explain myself.
