nikon 3200 coolpix probelm!

i just got a nikon coolpix 3200. when i take a picture there is a very long delay from the time the camera takes the picture to when it allows me to take another. what happens is i'll take a pic and then the hour glass comes up like its saving. then the screen goes black/blank and the lighting light flashes many times, then it stops blinking and a half second later the camera comes back up. i just got this camera so i don't know much about it. i played with the settings but that was no help. i also looked through the manual and was unsucessful in finding anything. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Hi there.

The 3200 is a pretty quick little camera in most situations.

I love weenycam lol...

Can you give us an idea of what type of SD card you're using, speed, size (capacity), brand, model, numbers etc, because my thinking is that it's the type of card slowing you down.

Or if the card is close to full (of images), it might also respond slower...if there's only a few images on the card (and you're happy to delete them) then you could try formatting the card with the cam. SD and CF cards often respond best when they're formatted solely by the camera.

You could also try and remove the card altogether and test shoot using the cam's internal memory (there's 14mb to play with) If that's slow, then your cam might have some sort of problem, (but I doubt at this early stage that it's the cam).

Let us know how you go.

Graham

the memory card is blue 128mb sandisk sd card. i don't know the speed of it or anything else. i took out the sd card and used the memory of the camera and it was still slow. it wasn't as slow as the memory card but the screen went blank and the lighting light flashed many times then the screen came back.
