Advice Needed: What Sony Digicam Should I Buy?
I cannot find the proper section of the forum to post this section. I apologize if I placed this thread in the wrong section of the forum...
I've been looking for a digital camera with the following features:
1. At Least 4.0 MP
2. Memory Dependent Video Recording Function (640x480 Resolution, minimum of 15 FPS)
3. Can capture photo / shoot video and produce decent images on Lowlight / Dim lighted places.
At first I have the following brand choices: CANON, SONY, KODAK & OLYMPUS.
I tried searching for products with the functions mentioned above. CANON & OLYMPUS have great features but their video recording feature is not memory-capacity dependent and is limited to a short period of time. Kodak also has great features but the video speed is only rated at 13 FPS. Sony has an excellent reputation and most cybershot camera have video speeds of 15 & 30 FPS and since Memory Sticks have a slight drop in its price, I’m going to purchase a Sony Branded Digital Camera. I would like to ask for opinions on what particular Cybershot camera should I choose?
I do have a budget of only $400 (camera & memory) and I came out with the following middle class SONY Models:
1. Sony DSC-S40
2. Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 Digital Camera
3. Sony Cybershot DSC-S60 Digital Camera
4. Sony Cybershot DSC-L1 Digital Camera
5. Sony Cybershot DSC-F88 Digital Camera
6. Sony Cybershot DSC-W5 Digital Camera
7. Sony Cybershot DSC-T33 Digital Camera
8. Sony Cybershot DSC-P100 Digital Camera
I read some reviews that some of these cameras have lower effective pixels (for e.g. a camera specified at 5.1 MP and is only effective at 4.1 MP)
There are lots of Positive Feedbacks on these cameras especially on the low light functions and I need help on deciding what camera should I choose? Please rank them from Top 1 to 5 so I would know which one is suited for my budget.
I am not looking for a broadcast media quality camera. I do understand that I have to spend $1500 and above to get these quality. What I’m looking for is an affordable camera that can give me decent images and videos on bright and lowlight conditions for the reason that I do not have enough budget to buy a high-end expensive digital camera.
Thank You Very Much & Will Appreciate All Helpful Replies...
