new Rollei dc3100

Thanks to its all-embracing automatic functions, the new Rollei dc3100 makes your entry to the world of digital photography a cinch.

Its stylish and flat design, its intuitive operating concept and numerous automatic shooting modes as well as top-quality craftsmanship make the Rollei dc3100 the ideal camera to take up digital photography. The 3.1-megapixel camera with a 1/2.7" CCD sensor has a 3x zoom lens f2.8-4.3 with focal lengths from 5.8 to 17.4 mm and offers a 4x digital zoom. It will be available from August 2003.
The sophisticated optical system of the Rollei dc3100 with 12 glass elements guarantees optimum image quality at any focal length. Automatic focusing is possibly from 0.5 m to infinity; in the macro setting, high-resolution close-ups can be taken at distances from 10 cm to 50 cm. A maximum image resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels ensures high-quality monitor images and prints.
The user will appreciate above all the automatic white balance and automatic exposure compensation that optimize all camera settings for the subject and lighting conditions encountered. In addition, various different flash modes such as Auto, Fill-in, Red-eye reduction, Night mode and Flash off make sure that your pictures will come out perfect even if the ambient light alone is not sufficient.
In addition, users may select between single and continuous photography, programmable cutoff of TFT monitor, stand-by and wake-up modes as well as a self-timer with 10-second delay.
In addition to the optical real-image viewfinder with diopter adjustment there is a 1.5-inch TFT LCD color monitor that may also be used for viewing stored images. But the Rollei dc3100 will capture even moving images. It is thus possible to record video clips with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, storing them as an AVI file and displaying them on a TV set via a video interface or loading them down to a computer via a USB port.
The Rollei dc3100 records images in JPEG or EXIF-2.2 format in its internal 16MB memory. In addition, there is a card slot accepting SD or MultiMedia cards.
