Exclamation Canon Digital Rebel XT Heat Warning

I have owned the Digital Rebel XT (Black Body) for three months now and have found what may be a serious problem for anyone wanting to use this camera out-of-doors in direct sunlight. The temperature specification on the camera reads 32 to 104F. This is NOT ambient temp. This appears to be internal temp of the camera. Using the camera in ambient temperatures above 90F with the camera in direct sunlight causes the case (and internal temp) to rise to a staggering 120F in only 25 minutes. Mine goes into mirror lock-up, then into a continuous shoot cycle that can only be remedied by taking the camera indoors, removing the battery and CF card, letting it cool, (1-2 hours) then replacing the battery with a freshly charged one, and replacing the CF card with a freshly formatted card. Luckily the CF card is not damaged by the malfunction, and pictures taken can be retrieved, but it sure is a hassle if you want to use your XT for the rest of the day.
Canon technical support has verified this problem, but offers no solution other than "Don't use the camera when heat can build up to greater than 104F. Doing so may seriously damage the camera."
Anyone else seen this problem?
