Trouble with Nikon Coolpix 4300. Outside shots in bright light take on pink and dark green shades. Interiors have vertical bars and are often very dark even when using flash. Any hints as to the problem?

First, make sure no goofy settings have been accidentally selected.

Been through the settings and returned all to default but no dice, but will take your advice and give it another shot. Thanks.
