No RAW output

Hello all i'm a new user
My computer refuses to see any RAW files in my 6 month old 20D JPEGs are OK. All my progs. that can process RAWs either don't see my 20D at all or report no files.
Have tried another CF card same result.

Ant ideas anyone?

You need a RAW viewer that reads your format or the latest Photoshop or other editor that recognizes the file.

Which camera are you using?

Frank

If using Adobe Elements install the Camera Raw 3.1 update. Follow directions CAREFULLY. Canon has new version 1.6.1 Digital Professional on their update page for RAW. I assume Windows does recognize your camera when connected??

No Raw filrs

Thanks for the reply guys. The situations is

I have had my Cannon 20D for six months. I have been able to download RAWs in the past using Digital Professional software bundled with the Cannon.
Also been using RawShooter essentials 2005, that used to work ok but now it can see my Camara but reports no RAW files when I know there are!

I think my Camara may be faulty....going to uninstall and reinstall my software tonight and see what happens.

Any other thoughts, should I get a card reader.

Sounds like a good approach--but what about using a CF chip reader? You can bypass the camera completely.

No Raw

Yes I guess I could do that. But I really would like to be able to use the Camara as is.

What your thoughts on repeatably removing the CF card to use a card reader. Do you think it will wear out the CF connector in the Camara? Is it good practice?

I use the card reader only and I think I have many hundreds of insertions and extractions without a problem. Just be careful to put it in straight.
