Teleconverter lens
Has anyone purchased and used the teleconverter TC-DC10 lens and adapter for Canon Powershot S60 (or similr model)? What is your opinion? I can find only one review, on Amazon - the person said images are poor. Thanks for any help! KR

Conversion Lens
I don't have the camera in your post, but I have the Canon Powershot G3 for which I bought the teleconverter telephoto, wide angle lens and close-up lens. I'm very impressed by the wide angle and close-up lenses, but not very impressed with the telephoto which I hardly use at all because the quality just isn't there.
I wish I could help you with your exact question.

Canon Teleconverter lens
Thanks for the feedback - I think it is probably relevant even though you are using a different camera. KR

hi, i recently purchased the teleconverter (and adapter) for my s60 from amazon.com. i'm still a novice user so i can't say if this teleconverter does a really poor job or not, but i'm in the process of learning so hopefully i'll be able to tell you soon enough. as for the fit, it fits perfectly on my camera. here are some observations:
- it partially blocks the autofocus/red-eye lamp... the camera doesn't seem to focus well, especially with closer objects.
- it's only good for taking photos at the telephoto end (100mm) and the digital zoom must be turned off. widening out will reveal the inside of the teleconverter so the result is like you're looking through a tube.

Teleconverter lens
I did go ahead and purchase the lens and adapter. I will know more after I have had a chance to really use it - I did test one for quite awhile at a local camera store. The focus was sharp when I used the lens as it is intended: for telephoto with the built in lens fully zoomed. If not fully zoomed, you will get a vignette effect - tells you this in the S60 manual - might be an interesting effect - however, since I bought the lens to extend my telephoto capability... THe salesman told me that it is really intended for outdoor distance shots, not for portraits indoors in which focus will not be as good.
