Unusual Ocean Flower
Took this yesterday in a little walk along the beach near home....unusual looking little flower. I stopped it down abit ..... -.7ep....so that the background might disappear a tad.

It had some real lite moisture at the ends of the "hair" that kind of sparkled. The colors were spectacular.....the little flower head is about two inches tall....any idea on what it is?
comments are always appreciated,

Hi Bud,
How's things ?
A very unusual flower, no idea what it's called.
I like the way you stopped down so as to set off the red against the darker background. Good idea. Thanks for sharing this unusual 'thing'.

Hi Stephen, I've been hiding in Oregon building a new house and not really spending much time on the photography side....so, I hope to start spending some more time here.....kind of like coming back home.

I don't know what it's called but it really is beautiful and interesting plant. Looks like a coral but its not growing in the water but only on the shoreline? I like the colors too, the contrast and the frame.

Very interesting plant Bud and a lovely photo of it. When you mentioned the moisture on it I wondered if it might belong to the Sundew family of plants which are carnivorous, but a very quick search of the web found me nothing.
