Software progam probles
Made a serious mistake recently. Bought a new computer that uses Windows XP as the operating system.
Guess what? My USB driver for Sony Mavica camera won't work with XP and both Sony and Roxio (they wrote original driver software) refuse to tell me what kind of new "packet writing" software that I can buy to download directly from camera.
Yes, I know that I can finalize discs. But only if there is enough room to do so, and I have literally 1000's of pictures on discs that don't have enough room to finalize. (yes I was stupid enough to beleive that there would always be software that would work with my very expensive camera. How stupid of me.)
Anyway, if anyone knows about software with "packet writing" capabilities, your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben

how old is that camera, I never heard anyone say they dont like XP for that reason. Xp is usaully loaded with many of the popular drivers, and if the OS doesnt have it, either the cd that the camera came with will or give me the model name and number of your camera and ill try to get it for you.

Sony Mavica MVCD 1000 is model of camera.
Honestly did not try to just plug in and use with plain XP.
Did try to load software, and received a message that the program would cause XP to be unstable and crash. Contacted Sony and they said that they no longer supported that camera model, and that I should just finalize disc. Okay for future discs, but not for ones already full.
I think that Roxio's 7 whatever will solve problem, but have cash flow problem at this time.
Thanks for your response.
