Please help!!!!

I had recently uploaded my pictures onto my computer for the first time. Everything went well. Unfortunately now whenever I try and turn on my camera with the Auto Adjustment mode it always says "acess," on the screen and then suddenly shuts off. I have a Sony DSC-P73. The lens opens up and the power light turns on but all of a sudden it just turns off. Even when it turns off, the lens stays out. Although, it can turn on with the Playback mode. Please tell me what i should do. I have tried changing the batteries several times and have been leaving it alone for hours but this still occurs. What is wrong and how can I fix it???? Please help me, I'm desperate!
