Sony DSC-717 ?

Sony DSC-717? This may sound dumb; however, can you explain briefly what the flashing hand is.It appears on the display whenever I half press to focus.
Thanks Camera is a Sony DSC-717

my guess is that you are seeing this in ‘low light situations’ … and it’s a warning about ‘hand shake’

I've been using the DSC-F717 for a little while now and I believe the blinking hand is to tell you to wait before taking the picture (kinda like the signal for crossing the street) as it hasn't locked all the settings yet (i.e. focus, etc).

It's handshake warning

You need to freeze your body or use a tripod.

You're right qball....my apologies for the incorrect response. I tried different situations to check this and it seems to be correct. However, I do notice that it only shows up with certain settings (funny that there's nothing mentioned in the camera's manual that I could find).
