what camera should i purchase
I was wondering i have been looking at buying a different camera .I currently have an olympus 750 ultra zoom . I shoot lots of nature pictures scenery etc ,and my kids sports. The ultra zoom doesnt do bad , but when i go to print the pictures ,especially to an 8x 10 , the color is good, but the detail like their faces , look flat , and grainy .I have tried using high speed burst mode , i have tried different white balance , tried getting closer to the action, tried using higher iso 400, and setting shutter much faster , but still the end result is the same . You at times can barely make out who the person is . Now i have been looking at the cannon rebel and nikon's d 70 , They both seem nice , but i wasnt sure which to go with. A few questions i have is 1. the d 70 shows that it has iso 200-1600, rebel has 100-1600 , how often is the 100 iso used and how important is it to have ,and will the d 70 work well without it? 2. the effective pixels on the rebel are 6.3 million or 300,000 thousand more than the d 70 what does this coorenspond with actual picture taking and printing will there be a noticable difference? Also the rebel shows 3072 x 2048 vs d70 3008x2000 resolution .3.speed ? the rebel shows 2.5 fps for 4 shots , d 70 3fps for up to 12 shots jpeg. Now what jpeg setting are we talking? is this the best or highest jpeg setting for the best print qaulity (jpeg) what can it do in raw? What will the pictures look like at these speeds? Speed is great but if the pictures are still grainy or blurry it doesnt matter. like i said i ususally blow up to 8x10.4.metering ? the rebel lists as auto? where d 70 shows three settings matrix, center weighted, spot , i am assuming it also has an auto ? how quick is the focus? 5. with focus , the rebel has the multi basis ttl with 7 focus points what is the d 70's and how do they compare for accuracy ? 6. what about the body of the rebel since it is plastic , will the lens mount wear out down the road allowing the lens to loosen? if so is there any way to prevent this? i guess i am not sure if the lens mount is also plastic , which to me would wear after time creating a loose fit. loose lens means blurred picture. These are a few of my questions. i did notice that nikon lens and accesories seem to cost significantly more as well. I am just looking for a camera that will give me good use something i can learn on and get less noise on the faces of my distant and mobving subjects like whne our kid wrestles and we are trying to capture that pin ? Thanks Bill B i know its a lot to do with the photographer , but i want something that possibly as i get better will allow me to take better pictures. Owe one more thing to zoom the lens on the rebel is teh buttons to the rear of teh camera where the d 70 is in the front? if so it would seem that the d 70 would be a little nicer in that regaurd as it would feel more like my 750 uz. I am attaching a photo to show what i mean by noise
