Colormailer Photo Manager

Colorplaza Ltd., a leading independent European provider of online digital photo finishing today launches a new generation of end-user digital photo management software, Colormailer Photo Manager, that finally dispenses with the problems of imaging software incompatibility and locating your photos on your PC, and gives a single view of all images held on your hard disk.

How often has the pleasure experienced in receiving a Christmas present of a new digital camera turned all too soon to frustration? Having loaded the accompanying software for image handling onto your computer and taken a few shots of the turkey with the new camera, a thought occurs: ‘What if I created albums of different events using the photos I have just taken plus the images sent by friends either via email or CD-ROM?’

Still upbeat because of the successful installation of the camera software in less than two hours, you attempt to use the same software to seek out the rest of your images on the hard disk. But where are they? How do you transfer them into the camera software album system? Why can’t you find all of them?

Colormailer Photo Manager provides a simple-to-use, yet powerful, solution for image management and modification and deals with the problems faced by amateur photographers using proprietary software.

The programme is available as a shareware download from www.colormailer.com/photomanager on a 30-day trial basis plus a subsequent one-off charge of £6.50 (Euros 9.90) for the ongoing activation key.

Colormailer Photo Manager locates, organises and presents all the images on a PC hard disk, regardless of location or origin, without any need for file transfer or database manipulation and creates a single view of all image files. It achieves all this without having to import, move, erase or duplicate the images. The programme easily locates and displays all images and allows the user to organise them in a simple structured manner by albums or categories.

This unique aspect of Colormailer Photo Manager gives every user, from the complete novice up to the semi-professional, a powerful yet simple photo management system with an intuitive interface for a wide range of functionality.

The range of functions available with Colormailer Photo Manager includes:
- Importing photos directly from a digital camera to a PC (Win 2000/XP)
- Rotating a group of selected images through 90 simultaneously
- Organizing the photos into albums and categories
- Modifying / re-touching images
- Resizing and sending photos directly via e-mail
- Printing photos at home
- Burning photos onto a CD or DVD
- The facility to order real photo prints online

Nico Lugt, Marketing Director from Colorplaza Ltd., commented on today’s announcement, “As amateur digital photographers we all know the intense frustration caused by attempting to organise images from our own cameras, images sent over email by friends, downloaded images from the internet and those provided on CD-ROM. The packaged image handling software which accompanies most cameras is really only suitable for handling images from a single source and not easily applied to a broader universe of images. We have solved the problem with a single, ‘try before you buy’ package, which fulfils all the image management needs of today’s amateur digital photographer.”
