MainConcept Technology Featured in New Adobe Video Products; Codecs to Enhance New Video Editing and DVD Authoring Software
AACHEN, Germany
July 29, 2003--MainConcept, a leader in multimedia technology, today announced that its codecs will be prominent features of upcoming products from Adobe Systems Incorporated.
Adobe(R) Premiere(R) Pro, the most significant upgrade to the award-winning video editing software since its introduction in 1991, will include MainConcept's latest MPEG encoding and decoding technology. It will also include the popular MainConcept DV Codec which provides ultra-fast, high-quality rendering and YUV processing.
Adobe(R) Encore(TM) DVD, Adobe's new professional DVD authoring software, will also feature the MainConcept MPEG encoder and decoder including exceptional integration with Premiere Pro. For example, markers from the Premiere Pro Timeline can be passed to Encore DVD as chapter points automatically.
"We are proud to have chosen MainConcept's DV and MPEG encoding technologies to power Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Encore DVD," said Bruce Bowman, product manager for Adobe Premiere Pro. "The MainConcept DV codec is integral to the new real-time and YUV processing capabilities of Adobe Premiere Pro. Encore DVD and Premiere Pro both rely on the MainConcept MPEG encoder to provide Hyper-Threaded software encoding that surpasses hardware solutions in both quality and pure speed."
"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Adobe," said Markus Moenig, founder and CEO of MainConcept. "We are proud that they have chosen to enhance these exciting new products with our technology."
