Angry Blurry Action

I have had my DSC-P10 for over a year and have taken some incredible pictures with it. All of a sudden I have developed a problem that any action in the picture (anything but stone still) is as if I am taking pictures of the undead. You can see the still portions of the photo, but anything in motion looks as if it is moving at 500 mph. I have always taken pics in auto mode. I think I may have messed up a preset setting . Anyone have any ideas???? Please help, I have a 7 week old daughter and my wife is going to kill me if I can't get a clear photo of her (of course the only time she is still and my wife is tired of taking pics when she is asleep). Thanks for any response.

Dave

OK, i dont have that camera but im assumign all cybershots are relatively similar.

As the camera is assuming the picture is still, when it set auto mode, it will set a average exposure, which if your baby moves or u move or shake slightly this will cause a small blurring.

Right i looked at a review of the p10, you dont have to many manual features, so your best bet is to set the camera to high speed shutter Sports mode (little golf man), this is used to capture sports and moving objects by letting the shutter open only a small length of time exposing the picture very quickly. (if the picture is slightly dark, use the flash inside if neccessary)

Also try leaning on something or using a tripod or makeshift rest.

Hope that might help.

Congrats on the new born.

Thanks Chronic, I found the settings you were mentioning and that seemed to make the difference. I can now focus on my newborn and my 3 yr old. (much harder) I appreciate the help.

Blurry ??

Guys....

I have a DSC-P12 (same as the P10 with extra battery etc)...

I have been having the same problem as dlcslcman....

Chronic - he problem isnt how he is or isnt taking pictures... the problem is that it has just started doing it after a year or so.....

I have loads of pics of my daughter in movement from last year, but suddenly the camera takes ages to take a picture giving a really bad shutter lag, which in turn give a blurry image ???

Can anyone help/has anyone the same problem ???
