Help : Is the additional price worth it ?

Hi,

I'm planning to buy my first digital camera. I'm buying it through my relative in USA who is coming back on Jan 26. I would have chosen Canon A85 except for its video limitations. So I have decided on Sony and zeroed down on 2 cameras; Sony DSC P73 or Sony W1. W1 has got Carl Zeiss lens and it has got 1 MegaPixels extra compared to P73. I also read that it is faster.

Now, W1 is around $75 more compared to P73. Please suggest me if W1 is worth this additional price ? I was thinking that for this additional money, I could buy more memory (Sony memory is costly!!)

Hello, Benny, I bought the dsc-p73 for my wife, the w1 has a little more features, but if you are not going to take very elaborate pictures just buy the sdc-p73, the only difference is a little more resolution, but I like the multipoint 5 focus area on the w1, a few more bucks and you will have more features to play with, you can also use scandisk memory instead of the sony, it's cheaper and does the same, I bought the p73 on a website call chiefvalue.com, I paid $174 for the p73 and $32 for the 128 mb scandisk and $4 shipping, there're other websites like newegg.com, they also have good deals.
