Hello everyone. I'm new to photography and to this forum. I have a question that might seem dumb, but what is the benifit of using the close-up lens instead of the macro mode on my a60. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it would actually let you focus closer than your macro mode (and with the macro mode..it would focus pretty close)

thanks Vito. I think i'm going to pick one of these up. How big do you think the difference will be? Has anyone here used a close up lens for their powershot before ?

hmm...where are you planning on buying it? if it's online...it may say the macro ratio it allows (like 1:1, 1:2, 1:3)

lol, if you can find that, then look in your manual to see if they say the ratio for your macro mode...
1:1 is very good...that means the subject will be recorded the same size on film(sensor lol), as it is in person...(not the print..i'm talking about the actual sensor...)
