Which camera to buy ?
Hi Friends,
I know lots of similar questions have been asked in this forum. Please help me too. I'm in India. I'm planning to buy a digital camera through my relative in US. My budget is around $250 - $300 (including extra memory, rechargeable batteries, charger, carrying case). I'm not a professional. But I know the basics of photography. I generally take photos of my wife, myself, my relatives, places, trips, scenery, animals etc. I want reasonable quality video too. I won't take prints above 8x10 size. I think I'm looking at 4MP and 3X zoom. I need a camera, which is somewhat fast, gives quality pictures, with good flash etc. I think 256 MB memory will be enough for me. I would like to have warranty in India also (I heard Canon gives warranty only in US and Canada). I can skip this if the chances of the camera getting bad are very less. I would like to have a camera, which gives good pictures in most of the normal situations (bright sunlight, shadow, darkness, indoors, outdoors, with / without flash, close-ups, far objects etc). I won't generally print the photos directly from a printer. I'll either store them in my PC or give it in a studio to get them printed.
This will be my first digital camera. I have used compact and SLR cameras.
I was considering Canon Powershot A 75 & 85, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P73, Nikon Coolpix 4100 & 4200. I felt these cameras meet my requirements.
Can someone suggest me a camera, which is best suited for me.
Thanks,
Benny Varghese
