I have a Fuji S5100 and find it to be a great camera. I am unable to post a link to show you the photos because I don't have 15 posts yet.

I agree it is a great camera, but the only thing that is a drawback to it being used professionally is that there is not way to connect an external flash unit, and the shutter lag.
I love it for what I do. For the longest time people though I only had a Macro camera. They were shocked when they found out it was just a regular digital camera.

Fantastic camera!

Settings?

Could you please tell me what setting you took these pictures on. My wife and I bought the 5100 about 4 months ago and have been disappointed in it. The colors seem drab, the focus (even at short distances) seems off, and we can't seem to get the aperture to work right to have the background out of focus. We are both fairly well educated and its driving us nuts that we can't get this to work. We have even contacted Fuji because its so hard to take a good picture with it, but they don't seem to care a whole lot. I read so many reviews before I bought the camera and people just loved it. Seeing your pictures was the final straw. So if you could please tell us what settings you're using, I'd appreciate it.

I have had the S5000 for about a year & a half and am very happy with it. Check out my gallery - all the pictures, with the exception of any underwater ones, were taken with the Fuji.

I don't have the settings, but it was in Macro mode and in the settings pick chrome. That will give you the saturated colors. If you got to this page you can see all the EXIF info. http://www.photochimps.com/gallery/...&ppuser=298
I no longer have the camera, my sun loved it so much he took it. I bought a Pentax DSLR. Good luck.

JoelW135, thanks for your quick response and the website link. We'll keep trying, but I may have a few questions as we go along, if you don't mind.

No problem at all. Here is a forum that is devoted to the Fuji line of cameras. I have been taught a huge amount here.

I have noticed that many of the really nice pictures I've seen have been outdoor pictures. Most of our attempts so far have been indoor shots. Can you comment on your experience with indoor shots?

I have always had good results with indoor shots. I am great with landscape and macro shots, but people are not my best subject. But all in all the 5100 produces very good photos. Most needed very little or no post processing. Did you go to the forum I posted? There you can get many hints to help improve your shots.
