Unhappy sharpen a cropped photo

I have a canon a80 which is set for maximum resolution. I cropped a small area out of a picture and when I blow it up to 4X6 the pixels appear as large squares. I use Paint Shop Pro to edit my photos. Is there a technique in PSP that would give the appearance of more/finer pixels so I can print at 4X6, or is there other software out there that has this functionality?

I'm not sure what the maximum resolution of your Canon is but from your description, it looks as though the resolution of the original is not sufficient for upsizing the crop to the desired size. When you get to the stage of seeing squares in your resized image, it would be too low a resolution for any software to sharpen.

im not sure what they are called but i know there is software that claims to enlarge with little or no pixelation using vector based algortythms. has anyone tried these?
