Angry Help needed - Exilim Z40 distorting pics

I've had my Casio Exilim EX-Z40 for about 2 months. Over time, I've noticed that the edges of the pictures are distorted (curving straight objects, such as door frames - almost like a fish lens or something).

Is this normal? Or, does it appear to be a factory defect?

Should my photos all be bending like this?

I could really use some experienced eyes on this problem (this is my first digital cam - I know it's a boring one) - Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance - and great pictures everyone (kind of inspires me to learn something about real photography - not just point and click)

Thanks in advance!
