I'm impressed & questions

Well, I've only done very little playing around to get started on this and I have to say, I am *very* impressed with the way the gallery looks to ther users, I especially like that the latest additions are always visible on the main page ( I have a gallery at PBase and I kind of manually maintain an inbox to try and achieve the same thing), this is so much more slick.

A couple of things that I'm still trying to figure out are (a) is it possible to "nest" galleries? For example, I created one from my trip to Iceland this May. I'd love to have one sub-gallery for each day (because I took sooooo many photos).

Will I be able to display one photo in more than one gallery without uploading it twice? For example, create a "Best Of 2003" gallery with my favorite photos from that year that are stored in various other galleries? Can I change the order of photos within a gallery?

I also haven't yet figured out how to change where it says "Add Text" under my gallery name.

I did manage to change my password, add and delete photos, edit them, comment on them and edit some of my profile settings (not all of which seem to be editable, for example, the email address is not).

I also really like being able to use the vB Code in the descriptions.

I'll continue playing tomorrow - this is fun and I'm excited about how the galleries will look

Slideshow

Just tried out the slideshow feature ... that's fantastic! Very nice transition between the images, too.

Another question: I generally upload my pix at 640x480 / 427 size. They display just a little smaller in the gallery and I have to click on the picture to see it in full size. Is there a way to default showing the full size in the gallery?

Not Sure I'll look into it

Another small thing ... maybe it's just me acting blond ... but it took me a while to figure out that the "Name + - and Date + -" at the top of galleries are for sorting.

I think little up- and down-arrows might be more effective. But of course I don't know how easy a change that is ...

One more question while I'm thinking about it. When you make the premium galleries available for public consumption, will they tie into this website somehow? Will there maybe be a "View Premium Galleries" link? Will I be able to upload a photo into both galleries (members here and my premium) in one go?

Just wondering...

Franziskalang,

Firstly I agree that the "Name + - and Date + -" aren't very logical so we will change all that for the near future. Your idea for the "up" and "down" will probably be the best thing to do.

Of course there will be a "tie" between BytePhoto and the premium galleries.
However, as for uploading to the two galleries at the same time, I don't think is a good idea as it's preferable to keep all the premium gallery databases seperate.

Thanks for the feedback... it's very much welcomed.
