Lens Opinion

I'm using a digital rebel.

Wondering if anyone can give me their opinions on the following lens:

Canon 70-200 F4.0 L

I want to use it to capture outdoor sporting events (football that takes place at 4 in the afternoon, so plenty of light.....well, I think so anyway).

Next lens:

For indoor basketball with really bad sodium vapor lighting.......and taking into consideration the 1.6 ratio, would you recommend the

Canon 85 1.8 or the
Canon 100 2.0

Not being an expert in lenses I can only tell you what I know.....From what you say I would advise to go for the Canon 70-200 f2.8 , this will give you the extra speed to stop down for low light conditions and at the same time allow you to take wildlife shots etc. Hope that helps.
