The message you are seeing "No Display Data" will come on if you try to go to image playback mode when there are no images on the memory card(s) to display.
Hence, the message "No Display Data".
You probably just pressed the button in the upper left hand corner of the camera (which will go into playback mode). Since you had no photos on the memory cards, it gave you this message.
If you power off the camera (close the cover), and power it on again (open the cover), the camera will automatically startup in normal, record mode.
Or, if you ever go into playback mode with the camera on, simply pressing the play button again will put the camera back into record mode (ready to take photos).
But, I'm sure you figured this out by now.
