Floppy Disc Adaptor Problems

I'm still using the Mavica camera with the Floppy Disc Adaptor and memory stick.

Problem. After copying contents of the disc to a CD, I now get the message, "Floppy Adaptor is not formatted" in the computer A drive and the message, "Formatting Problems" in the camera screen.

Needless to say the disk will not open.

Any thoughts on where the problem lies? Fortunately, I have the contents written to a CD but am leery of reformatting if not necessary.

I actually refomate often, its a way of trully CLEANING everything off the card.

Its not a big of issue as it use to be, but sometimes when you cut and paste or drag and drop items for a card to a computer, errors can occur. Again its rare, but does happen.

I would recommend doing a reformate IN THE CAMERA if you can. But sometimes you have to do it in the computer and then the camera.

Anyways a reformate should solve you issues. The only thing is, once that memory source is formated, the data will be LOST. Where as if you just delete the data, its still fairly easy to recover.

Thanks for the reply JCW. I was just leery of formatting this type of disc.

I did resolve the problem by checking the two Li. batteries in the floppy adapter and found them to be down somewhat and when I reinstalled them the adapter worked. I will be replacing the batteries and reformatting it before using it again.

I appreciate the information.
