c5000 lenses

I'm new here and glad I found a site that I can relate to. I'm just getting into the digital thing and have just bought the Olympus c5000. So far, I love it. I'm debating on weather or not I actually need the attachable zoom and wide angle lenses that can be attached to it. The camera already has a digital 12x option, or regular 3x option. Will getting the additional zoom and wide angle attachable lenses be worth it? I just do point and shoot stuff, but do have a need for wide angle and zoom no and then. Also, I have the UV, Polorizer and FLD filters. Can anyone tell me the best uses for them?

Digital Zoom vs quality

Digital zoom simply spreads an image out thinner, adds no data like optical magnification does, so if You are serious about details, a good tele lens is the way to go. Same for WA, just depends on Your interests. There are some good articles on filters, good place to start is http://www.luminous-landscape.com/t...larizers.shtml. Lots of pictures so You can compare effects. I do a lot of wildlife photography around water, My PL filter stays on most of the time. FDL is for inside work, mostly. Lot easier for You to check out the site, it is all well covered.
