Comet Neat 5.17.04...Two styles Closeup and Emboss
I took this last night 5.17.04.
The Comet Neat....I have processed it to eliminate as many star trails as possible and to enhance the tail as much as possible. Also, I used the emboss (similiar to the Larson-Sekanina method) to enhance the tail detail that is usually not visible in the LRGB version.....and made a collage of them side by side.
Telescope: C8" SCT in Fastar Mode
Camera: SXV-H9C
5pics@1min Processed in AstroArt and Photoshop

The Emboss mode is enhanced with levels and removing of stars and softening the background to emphasize the tail structure.

Well, I didn't think you could use the Embosse function to improve these type of shots. We learn something new every day Thanks for sharing.

This is just one of those things I got from playing in Photoshop, trying to find a better way to emphasize the tail structure.
