Newbie
Greetings to all you Digital Camera and Photo Gurus.
I tried two questions that must have been stumpers because nobody replied yet.
Here are a couple more:
1.) Occasionally when I transfer pictures from my memory card to my hard drive, the pics get mangled with slicing and color shifting. Any ideas on what causes this and how to prevent it?
2.) When I take a picture of the surrounding landscape (hills and valleys), they appear much flatter than they are. How can I get some depth and height into the pics?

If this helps you...
I had this problem when using my front USB port with an X-Drive II. It cleared up when using any of my rear ports.

1. Slicing and color shifting is mostly caused by bad contacts or a bad cable between your USB port and your memory card.
I had the same problem with my scanner and this problem could only be solved by buying a new computer. In your case, try an other cable or, as where1 sugested, the USB port on the back side of your computer.
2. try Photoshop which will give you the possibility of 'upgrading' your pics.
