Online printing services
Just today I have been contacted by a client I shot a wedding for.
I had taken high resolution (2448x1632) photos of her wedding, and given the files to her on disk so she could upload and order the ones she liked from www.dotphoto.com
She ordered 200+ prints from them and she said in her email that anything larger than a 4x6 came back looking horrible, very pixleated. I am (of course) about to have a nervous breakdown from the news.
Any advice about how best to resolve this situation? It would be greatly appriciated.
Has anyone else had the same sort of problems with ordering prints online ?

I've never used an online printing service, but not for any reason.
You've shot at a resolution (4 megapixels) that should produce quality 8" X 6" prints or 30" x 24" on screen images.
If you supplied high res images to your client on cd/dvd then the problem is either with the way client instructed www.dotphoto.com ( I.E. I want it done at a price) or it's down to www.dotphoto.com.
Don't have a nervous breakdown, find where the problem is and reasure your client you will rectify things.
My advice here is don't let the client have the files you're are the photographer!
Check out a few online companies, send them some test files and get prints sent to you. You'll soon find one that suits the way you work. You then send the files and set everything up so all your client needs to do is place and order.
IMHO as a pro www.dotphoto.com, from looking at their site is not a company I would use.
