Kerning is the space between each letter

Leading the space between each line of copy

Often times when adding text to a graphic you face space limitations both in width and height….
Here is where kerning and leading can help tremendously ……by adjusting kerning and or leading it may allow you to use a larger font size than you otherwise would have been able to there by increasing the legibility of your work …practice with them ….just don’t over crowd your text ……


The following keyboard shortcuts apply to PS7 but most high-end graphics editing programs will offer a way to adjust both the kerning and leading
