Lily
I visited my future mother-in-laws today. In the bay window was this Lily. I grabbed my camera from the car and then realised that I would need my tripod........which was at home. (thought: 'must take tripod with camera, must take tripod with camera, must take tripod with camera!' As we only live 5 minutes away, I went home to get it. Here's the result.
Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi

Geoff.

Great shot.... and the DOF, IMO, is perfect.

Geoff, I agree with RVB...perfect.
I bought an inexpensive monopod and it really works great.....compresses to about 18" and still gives a bunch of stability.......

This is great! The exposure, colors, detail.. I love it. What did you use for lighting? Was it lit from the left side with light from the window? Did you use any fill flash? I'm curious about it, it's really nice!

Thanks for your comments.
It was lit purely from natural light through a window on the left hand side. The lily was placed on the window sill. The light was therefore coming through the petals on the left side.
Regards,
Geoff.
