M45 the Pleiades

This is a beautiful little deep space object this time of the year....One of the first that new astronomy buffs learn to find.
This was taken with my new astro camera which allows wider fields of view. My previous camera only allowed about 25% of this fov.

Telescope: TeleVue NP101 4" refractor .82 focal reducer
Camera: SXV-H9C one shot color
10 pics @ 240 sec
Stacked and Processed in AstroArt 3 and Photoshop.

thanks for looking and commenting,

bud

Thumbs up

This has been my favorite constellation for quite a few years. Another great photo, Bud.

Another lovely shot .... here I like the transparent 'bluish mist'. Sorry I don't know the correct name for it.

Tim, Rvb, thanks....this is probably one of my favorite things in the winter/spring sky.
My previous camera would only allow about 25% of this shot so that you couldn't really see the beauty of the whole group. The misty stuff is called nebulosity....it's really just a cloud of stuff/gases that reflect the colors of the stars. The blue stars indicate that they are fairly new stars...only millions of years old.
