What is the use of putting photos up in the POW? Supposedly, people are supposed to RATE & CRITIQUE them right?
Well it seems useless as with 87 views there isn't a single rating or comment. Now maybe I see why canfan or whoever he is/was did what he did, not that I would, but it still raises some questions and the "whats the use?" question. Or as with another similar site, is it the "you have to be in the "click"" to get feedback or do you have to be a paid member?
When I first got here I asked how to get critiques and was told to submit to POW, well I did, very few views and even less critique. Leaving a rating and no comments is worthless, so is just viewing a photo and not bothering to do anything.
If you take the time to view it take an additional few seconds to rate it and leave CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS, otherwise it's all a waste of time for everyone.

Well give it a little time, I am sure you will see a boost in replys...

I know when I have the time I plague the POTW board with comments. I trully make it a goal to make sure atleast every photo has some type of responce to it.

I know when I usually right about a photo its usually not short. I often take the time to give a multi sent. if not more review.

I will have to admit for the last 2 weeks I have been really busy and slacked off, but thats just me. I also think Holidays and tax time plays a little with our extra time. So give it a week or two...

Also the subject mater means alot, I mean if I can really connect with a image I will rate it much faster than if I cant... So it kind of depends on the images and how the group relates to it.

Keep posting, and it will come...

Well if I remember correctly, several weeks ago you were the one who told me to post to POW for critiques, so I did. I had a couple in those weeks, and in 108 views on the latest, one, and that was after I wrote the above.
It really seems useless to bother with any of this, and it's it's a waste of bandwidth to boot on an already stressed system. I don't know the answers, but it seems worthless when you get 108 views and 1 rating with a comment. Seems the average should be 75% rate & comment , not 0.08% (just a number picked out of the air folks) but you get the point.

Well I am sad to hear you are not pleased with the site. I feel over all for a rather young site, its been plesently growing over the last few months and really advanceing...

I mean I try to give it my all when I truly am at this site. Not because I have to, because I want to and actually get alot back from it... I cant speak for the rest, but I know when I vist byte I often write numerous reviews and go beyond the norm. But its done because I like to and feel it may help others...

As for the posting of replys, I did some quick checks on your numbers.

I see you signed up on the 23rd of January of this year. Since then you have posted 39 post (with a few of them here which I have answered to). That comes out to be about 1.6 post a day.

Whether you have alot of post or none really does not mater to me, but if your compaining about it, then it does. I mean you just stated that you feel 75% of the photos viewed should be commented on, correct? Well, so your saying in the last month you have only looked at 52 or LESS photos? I mean thats what 75% or you posts would be...

I have always said to get a little, sometimes you have to give. I will promise you if you for the next few weeks give a handful of comments a week in the POTW, you will start to recieve more knowledge about photography, than you ever expect. And before you know it you will be receiveing alot of valueable info in your own gallery.

So I hope to see you posting and GIVEING some help comments to fellow viewers...
