10D or Rebel 300D?
I'm looking at aquiring a new Digi SLR in the next month or so. Can anyone reccomend either the 10D or 300D? I like both but I'm not sure wich of the two to get.
Thanks,

Well.. depend on what you want to do with it and how much you have to spend! Bear in mind the 300D kit coomes with a decent lens where the 10D comes with no lens! The 300D kit is $999 where the 10D body is $1499.. Graanted the 10D is a better camera... but in all honesty.. I would go 300D and get some decent glass (lenses) and a nice memory card.. if $$ not really an object or a factor by all emans 10D nice glass..lol.. But all in all I haven't really seen a difference in image quality between the 10D and 300D... but the 10D does have some nice features the 300D doesn't... But the 300D may have some more features soon as the firmware is already being hacked and stuff added ;)

Thanks for the reply.
I looked at almost all the Pro-sumer SLR's and have settled on the 300D.
Now, when the Government Payback Program kicks in I'll get the 300D Kit, plus 2 Sigma lenses and the Battery Grip. All for just under $1350.00.
Again, thanks!

I have both a 300D and a 10D and i have to say i prefer the 10D so much more that I gave my 300D to my ex-girlfriend to use. if you can afford it, i highly recommend the 10D.

Exposure times?
How well do these cameras perform with long exposure times? What are the longest exposure times possible? hours?

great! with a remote, you can set them to BULB which opens the shutter indefinitely (or till your batteries run out)... very nice indeed.

Decision Settled
I've been reading all week and have re-evaluated my decision.
I've decided to go with the 10D. It offers more features and has the same CMOS and processor as the Rebel. It also offers a sturdier case. The only thing I see it lacking is the ability to mount the EF-S lenses.
Now I'm just hoping that between now and when the Gov't sends me my refund is that Canon lowers the price on it. I'm not asking for $500 off (thought that would be nice) but $250 is more realistic.
Be safe everyone,
