NGC 2024....The Flame Nebula in Orion
This was taken the same day as the Sombrero galaxy....the first use of the new scope.
This is the Flame Nebula in the Constellation of Orion....it is right next to the left outside star in Orions' belt (Alnitak)
The nebula area is very dim...this picture was a combination of nineteen shots @ ten minutes apiece.....because of the nature of the camera being both the imaging camera and a guide camera at the same time the actual exposure time is half of the total. So, approximately 1 1/2 hours of exposure.....the images were then stacked/averaged and processed AstroArt 3 and then in Photoshop. The blue area to the right is from the star Alnitak...very bright bluish white star.

Scope TV NP101 4" apochromatic
MX5C color camera
thanks for looking and commenting,

Bud,
As always, beautifull. Wish I could make pictures like these. Unfortunately, Imy telescope is not that good and I live in the city where there is much to much light in the evening.
