Allow me to introduce myself
Hello hello!
My name is Tom and I am glad to become a part of your forum. I live in Southern California, married with 5 children. I have been taking pictures all my life, but only started taking photography seriously about two years ago with the purchase of my first digital camera. I believe that this is mainly due to the cost factors involved. I am what my kids call a 50 to 1 photographer. This means that I am lucky to get 1 good photo out of every 50 that I take. But hey, with digital I feel that this is a pretty good ratio. When I started to get "serious" about my hobby I was probably a 500 to 1 photographer. LOL I am now on my 4th camera, an Olympus c-5050, which I am very happy with.
Sorry, I don't mean to ramble on. I am glad to be here, and I hope to learn a lot from everyone.
Tom

50 to 1 sounds good to me. I think I'm still 500 to 1!
Welcome, I look forward to seeing some of your pictures.

Hi Tom
Welcome aboard & happy new year to you,
I've too been interested in photography many years, but took the digital route last August! got plenty of slides but not to many good digitals yet! I've just invested in an epson scanner and tranny adaptor so I can scan some in and put them up here.
Time will tell if I'm succesfull.
All the best
Mike

Welcome!
Welcome Tom... This is a great community: well maintained and with very friendly neighbors
I have enoyed photography all my life, but never really take photos until a couple of years ago with my first digital. I am still far away from 50 to 1, but hopefully with practice I will get there too.
I am looking forward to see your photos posted. If you have a minute of so to spare, please take a look at my gallery and help me to improve by critizicing my photos. Thanks!

Hello Tom,
I'm new here also. As far as being labled "50-1"...you're doing great. Whenever I go on a photo shoot I usually shoot anywhere up to 10-30 rolls of film. When I get them back, you should see my trashcan. I'll get anywhere from 20-30 good slides.
Terry
