M57...Ring Nebula in Lyra
Took this early this morning (1/12/04)....was only able to take six 2 minute shots before Mr. Sun came up......but still was able to capture some of the color and most of the luminance....notice the two little stars in the center.
In the next few weeks the system will be up earlier and will allow some longer exposures....the nice thing is you can then just add them together to increase the Signal to Noise Ratio.
thanks for looking and commenting,

That's a beauty. It looks to me that this one is many lightyears away. What magnification did you use?

Thanks raaf.......I used the scope at it's basic F10 with a focal length of 2000mm.....I believe the camera, because of its smaller pixel size is equivalent to about a 20mm lens so that would give about a 100x or less magnification. I'll check on what the actual lens equivalence is......it's a good question.
I'm hoping to get some clear skies again tonight.....if I can stay awake long enough.
