    Polarised lens selection.

    Hi Guys
Can anyone recommend a polarised filter suitable for use with the Sony A200 camera.
They often say that the filter may affect the cameras’‚’‚…‚’‚…Ύ‚ automatic features, and say to check compatibility, but I am unable to find any info on what filters can be used with an A200.
I would like to get a circular polarised filter, but these apparently are the most likely to affect the camera.
I would be very grateful for any advice or recommendations here.
    Thanks

Flossie, most decent camera stores sell a good variety of polarizing filters all of which should work on your kit lens. (You just need the right size - probably a 55mm mount). Kenko and Hoya both make nice mid-range ones. (I've used them). The only distortion you might get is when your lens is right down at the wide end. You may notice a slight bit of vignetting (darkened corners) right at 18mm - some manufacturers make the filter with a slightly thinner profile than others. I only ever had problems with that if I left my skylight filter on and stacked the polarizer on top of it. If I took the skylight off and put the polarizer straight on the lens, then it worked fine. Yoiu might also see 1/2 a stop of light knocked off your exposure - that would happen no matter which camera you're using.

    Happy polarizer shopping.

I have seen the Hoya circular polarising filters at a good price, so I think I will go for one of them and see how I get on.

    Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
