Help my Sony DSC-V1 camera stopped working!

The camera will turn on but will not take pictures. However, let me clarify....it seems there may be something wrong with the lens because the camera will do everything short of actually taking the pic. Its like theres a cap on the lens (but obviously there is no lens on it) so I don't know whats wrong. Has anyone else had this experience?

I've got the same problem about month ago. It just stopped working without any reason. I have no idea what/how to fix it. If you find out what to do, please let me know. Thanx

You all have ccd problem. Even after the expiry of your 1 year warranty, Sony will fix this free of charge. Thake your camera to your nearest Sony authorised repair centre and they will do it free.

Try this (maybe not). I My Sony P100 stopped working (this is going back a while now). It was way out of warrenty so it just sat on the desk, broken, for about a month. One day while I was looking at the next model up (on e-bay) I picked up my old camera and banged it on the desk out of frustration. The lens popped out then in and it's worked fine every since.
