    Need help finding the best camera for me

    I work as a engineer and my job requires me to take a lot of digital images upon inspection. I have an old Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD95. It just doesn't cut the cake anymore and it is time to upgrade.

    I am looking for a camera with macro capabilities. I need to be able to take close up photos of specimens. I would like a strong flash capability. A problem I would like to avoid is when I am at close range and use flash I get a shadow "arc" from the lens interfering with the flash. I am looking for a camera that wont break the bank.

    Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

    For those macro shots you'll need a ringlight so you may want to consider an SLR type camera with interchangeable lenses.
