Battery life of DSC-V1 only 2 years???

This is the first digital camera I have owned. I have two batteries but one of them no longer works: if you turn the camera on it shuts off immediately. If I try to recharge it, I get the fast blinking yellow light.

I contacted Sony customer service twice, and they refuse to tell me if this is a defect or just normal. The camera only came out two years ago so the batteries aren't older than that.

I thought these batteries have infinite lifespan. So do I have to get another battery? What is Sony's warrantee on them?

    Exclamation Well....

These battery's last a long time. There great battery's but they only have a lifespan of a few years. Some people get years out of them 3-4. The thing is that if you don't use them they tend to die sooner. I have had sony battery's last for only a year before. I recomend using them often and don't discharge them all the way. Charge them at a 1/4 full and transfer between them often. I believe the Sony warranty is only 90 days. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I kept bugging Sony and on the fourth reply they finally tell me it only has a 90-day warrantee and it's like: too bad, so sad.

I guess the one that died was the spare, although I couldn't tell the diff and alternated them a lot.

Since the battery lasted maybe 1.5-2 years, guess that's entirely probable.
