Problems with LCD screen

I have a MVC-CD500 CD mavica 5.0megapixel Sony.The past few times I've tried to take pics with it, the screen shows all these horizontal lines...and they move and vary in size and severity.

In this pic, you can see them...the vertical red lines.Obviously, they WERE horizontal, I just resized and rotated the image.:P

If yall know, what is the problem?Or how can it be fixed...and if not, what now? The camera was purchased December 2003 so it's not even 2 years old.

I have ran into this problem before, but with a different camera. Usually when you have a problem with horizontal lines that change over time, the lcd is not the issue. It's usually the data that is sent to the issue that is the problem. I ended up buying a broken camera of the same type from someone and switched out a circuit board. I never had much of a problem after that.

Sounds to me like someone will have something to sell next...........

PS: If the camera needs repair. Contact SONY and send it in for repairs, if the price is right. Taking it to your local camera shop or an online repair company is like shooting yourself in the foot. You don't die from it, but your foot will never be the same.
