    Unhappy transfering pics

i transfer a tiff photo that i had cleaned up in photoshop to my memory stick, and took it to the local photoshop for developing but when i put the stick in the machine it said no files found. i can see the pic stored in the stick when i connect the camera to my pc, but i can't see the photo in the camera, it says no files found. can someone help, all i want is to be able to transfer my edited pics to the stick, and then have them developed at the local photshop. by the way my camera is the DSC-P73

    Question .

did you put the file into the folder exactly where your files are found when the camera takes a picture?

My camera doesnt put pictures out on the root directorty.
Its at least 2 level folders in. All 3 cameras I have owned do that so I assume its standard to all.

Also, try saving your picture from the tiff to jpg and put both of the files in that same directory. That way when you go back you to the photo place you might also find wether you can see both files or just the jpg. Then you will know iif the photo machine can accept tiff files.
Try putting them onto a CD too. Save you from running back and forth trying different things that will work
    good luck!

I'd just burn them to a CD or upload them to one of the online photo processing places (Shutterly, Snapfish, etc...). I've never tried online but the CD works well.

Some camera file systems are also picky about the file names (in addition to the folder locations mentioned above). If you renamed the file, it may not accept it in the system. You likely have to use the same numbering system followed by the proper extension (.jpg, or whatever).

Sounds like you need a USB memory card reader (about $10) to be able to write directly to the stick fom the computer without any of the problems and restrictions mentioned here. The reader turns the stick into a device that reads and writes like a floppy.
