WinXP Autoplay Pop-Up Box Stopped Working?!?!

Hi, I have a Sony Cybershot Model No. DSC-P92, although I believe that is probably irrelevant to my problem. The thing is that whenever I plug it into a USB port and turn it on, the usual pop-up box (the Win XP Autoplay feature) no longer pops up. I still hear the beep-tone that you hear when the system recognizes new hardware, but I get no pop up box asking me what I want to do; and therefore I lose the oppurtunity to type in what I want to name my pictures. I know I can browse to the Sony memory stick drive and manually copy the pictures onto my hard drive, but the autoplay pop up box feature was very handy. I have even downloaded Autofix.exe from Microsoft's website and ran it but it said everything was working fine.

Anyone have any ideas what has happened?

I have an Oly and a Lumix and have found Windows xp does not discriminate when it decides to quit doing this little favor for its owners. The only way I got mine back was to do a nondestructive system recovery. However it only lasted a couple of months and now I'm back to copying my DICM file on the removeable drive to My Pictures then renaming the file folder and leaving the camera to number the pictures. I have heard of this from others also. No help here, sorry.
