Award Ribbons explained
Here are a list of ribbons that members can win.
Each of the 24 finalists each week have a green ribbon placed on their chosen picture.
Ribbons are also tagged for your user profile.
If you are a first time POTW finalist, then your profile will show the Green POTW Finalist ribbon.
Photo of the Week winners receive a red ribbon on their picture.
Once a finalist wins a POTW, the finalist profile ribbon tag is replaced with a POTW Ribbon.
Your picture in your gallery also has the Green POTW Finalist ribbon replaced with a Red POTW Ribbon
If your picture wins Photo of the Month, you then receive an additional ribbon in both your profile:
2009 ribbon
2010 ribbon
and your picture in your gallery receives the larger ribbon.
The Photo of the Month Ribbon is Blue

For the POTM ribbon in your profile, it will also give the year you won the POTM ie.e 2009 / 2010.
For those new to Bytephoto, I started POTM in March of 2009 when I took over admin functions at Bytephoto before we purchased it November 2009.
Second place winners also receive ribbons which are a shade lighter than the 1st place winners.
POTW 1st place is Red
POTW 2nd place is light red or pink
POTM 1st place is Blue
POTM 2nd place is light blue (still in the process of creating this one) past Jan and Feb 2nd place winners will receive it shortly.
I'm thinking Photo of the Quarter will be dark purple
Photo of the Year is Gold with the year on the ribbon for your profile
Your picture in your gallery receives a larger gold ribbon
Eventually I will make all the ribbons standard sizes and using the same text but since I created these on the fly, I forgot what font and size I used for the previous one.
Since we can only fit 6 images each week into the 4 categories, those images that we can not fit and we feel deserve recognition will receive Honorable Mention ribbons.
